Shardul Thakur Ready to Make Essex Debut in County Championship

In an exciting turn of events, Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur will be representing Essex in a seven-game tour in the County Championship season to come. This is the first foray into County cricket by Thakur, and the 33-year-old bowling all-rounder cannot wait to present his talent in a new environment.
"I'm over the moon to be joining Essex and enjoying the excitement of County cricket," Thakur said. "Playing for the Eagles is a great honor, and I'm excited to help the team achieve success."
Thakur's outstanding home record for Mumbai, in which he has time and again showcased his bowling skill and capacity to contribute important knocks down the order, made him a desirable asset for Essex. Director of Cricket Chris Silverwood played a pivotal role in securing Thakur's services, and he opines that the Indian all-rounder will prove to be a great addition to the team.






"We were desperate to sign a good quality seam bowler with batting ability a little lower down the order, and Shardul ticks all those boxes," Silverwood stated.
